Dry ridge replaces traditional mortar bedding with a mechanically-fixed, ventilated system. It complies with current British Standards (BS 5534), prevents ridge tiles working loose in high winds, and helps your loft breathe.
If your ridge tiles are loose or your mortar is cracking, dry ridge is the permanent fix.
A dry ridge system mechanically fixes ridge tiles to the roof using clamps and screws instead of mortar. It includes a roll-out ventilator that lets the loft breathe and stops condensation. Dry ridge meets BS 5534 and is now the preferred method on all new and re-roofs.
Dry ridge is not a legal requirement, but BS 5534:2014 — the British Standard for slating and tiling — effectively makes it the recommended method for any new ridge work. Most insurers and building control inspectors now expect dry ridge on re-roofs.
Dry ridge in Doncaster typically costs £35 to £55 per linear metre supplied and fitted, including the ventilation roll. A standard semi-detached ridge usually works out between £400 and £800. All dry ridge work is covered by our 20-year workmanship guarantee.
